Gifts Commemorating an Individual
In Memoriam
The most difficult calls the chapter receives are those in which a family member reports losing a loved one to asthma or anaphylactic shock. We join in the collective feelings of profound sorrow and work with the bereaved to find suitable ways to acknowledge the memory of their loved one. Gifts of this nature can be made via mail or for your convenience we invite you to use the PayPal donation button on this site. Please be so kind as to provide the family’s contact information so we can notify them of your Memorial Gift.
In Honor of an Individual
Anyone can make a gift in honor of an individual’s birthday, graduation, or ‘just because’. Please provide contact information and we will send a special card to your special person to let them know of your generosity. Gifts can be made via mail or through the PayPal donation button on this site. Be sure to provide all relevant details.
Weddings, Parties & Occasions
You can honor your guests and your special day by making a contribution to the AAFA MD-Greater DC Chapter in lieu of traditional party favors.
The chapter will provide an announcement template for you to use to announce your gift these can be mailed or serve as table tents). There are also additional party favor options available.

Please consider designating your work place campaign pledge gift to AAFA MD-Greater DC Chapter.
Many companies and businesses conduct work place campaigns through a variety campaign structures. Oftentimes with work place campaigns, an employee is encouraged to make a general gift that is not designated to a particular agency’s mission. If you feel strongly about our chapter’s mission and its work over the past twenty-five years, we encourage you to designate your campaign pledge by naming the chapter and using the campaign codes listed below (please note, these change each year).

Get Your Work Place Involved
The Chapter has ongoing and one-time volunteer opportunities that serve as a great team building event for your employee group. Whether it be hosting a ‘Brown Bag’ luncheon education session, or installing a newly donated window air conditioning unit to a needy family, your volunteers can be serve in a multitude of ways.
Work teams usually donate a minimum number of hours during a specific calendar period. For details or to discuss the possibilities and the interests of your employee team, please contact the chapter office at 410-484-2054 OR email info@aafa-md.org.
Host Your Own Fundraiser
Many civic organizations, friendship groups and church mission committee groups come to us interested in hosting a fundraiser, the benefits of which will help support the work of the chapter. We welcome such inquiries and past efforts have met with consideration success. More…
Whether it’s a unique event like our Annual Trike-A-Thon or a more traditional event like a gala, a home jewelry party, or a walk, the chapter has information and event kits from ‘model’ programs our volunteers have successfully help, that make hosting an event easier. Auxiliary Groups
Sometimes a group begins with a single effort and it becomes so rewarding that the group continues its efforts on behalf of the chapter for subsequent years. We call this an Auxiliary Group of the chapter to formalize the connection. An Auxiliary Group receives additional staff time in planning and publicizing an event to benefit the chapter’s mission and work. An Auxiliary Group can begin with an event or with sponsorship of a forma educational Support Group in their area. It is our hope that many new groups will evolve into the future. Planned Giving
The chapter would like to you to consider a charitable bequest to AAFA MD-Greater DC Chapter and to include the parameters of such a gift in your will or trust documents. Such a structured bequest can benefit the chapter’s mission into the next twenty-five years, as well as avoid significant tax penalties for your heirs. More…
The federal estate tax can take approximately 40 percent of your estate at the time of death unless estate planning steps are taken and made part of a will or trust. A financial planner and/or trust attorney should be consulted to determine your best course of action. The chapter is a 501(c)(3) organization under the IRS tax code and eligible to receive tax deductible gifts of appreciated stock or other assets and gifts of cash.
The chapter can provide information on life income gifts such as charitable remainder unitrusts or charitable remainder annuity trusts, which actually provide more than five percent in annual income to you while offering you the opportunity to make a gift to the Chapter.
